Great essay. My role model for living well after achieving financial security is Anthony Bourdain. Despite how it ended, he lived well and he left a lot of breadcrumbs behind for a guy like me to follow. I think his ideas and this essay dovetail very nicely.

100%. Obviously he had demons and I don't glorify those but when people ask what kind of a career I'd like to have, he's a very good model of someone who said what he wanted to say and said it how he wanted to say it.
